7 Essential things people always forget to pack for a trip

Make a list of the essentials that you must pack for your vacation.

Two types of travellers exist. There are two types of travellers.

The other group, seemingly without stress, searches for luggage on the night before the flight and stuff in all their choices.

One type of product may be superior to another. In reality, mistakes do happen. When both travellers arrive at their destination and unpack, they may realize that an essential item has been forgotten.

This article is a must-read before you go on your next vacation. You will avoid that horrible feeling of realizing you forgot something important. You can relax and enjoy your holiday.

1. Charge Cords

It is at the top of the list for good reason. It is easy to forget this item on the day of travel, as you will need to charge your device before leaving. Pack an extra charger or a note to remind you so that you don’t miss this item.

Airports usually sell cell phone chargers (at a high price). Laptop cords will be more difficult to replace. Do not forget to add a cord if you have any other devices that require charging.

Remember to bring this item with you when returning from vacation. Hostels can start a business by selling power cords that are left behind after check-out.

2. Internet Safety

Cybercrime poses a serious threat. Criminals will take advantage of any opportunity to hack into your device. If successful, this can lead to financial loss or, worse, identity theft.

Airports are committed to cybersecurity, but they cannot control it completely. Before connecting to the airport Wi-Fi, you should use a VPN. These travel safety tips apply to any public WiFI, whether it’s in your hostel or favourite coffee shop.

When I visited Brazil, for example, I wanted my Internet connection to be secure. To increase my cyber security, I used a VPN while in Brazil. Protect your devices, and ultimately yourself, before you go on your next trip.

3. First Aid Kit

Your vacation first-aid kit should be tailored to your specific circumstances.

Kits should include bandages, antibiotic creams, and minor wound care. Include a small blister pack or bottle of pain, cold, and gastrointestinal medicine.

Pack enough prescription medications for your trip. (Add a few extra days, just in case).

Take a copy of your prescription along with the generic name. This will be helpful if you are on vacation and need to fill a prescription.

Depending on your vacation, you may also want to bring bug spray, sunscreen, and after-sun lotions.

4. Contact lenses and glasses

Your vacation will be ruined if you can’t see clearly.

Bring an extra pair of prescription glasses, sunglasses or contact lenses. It would be expensive and time-consuming to visit an eye specialist for a new prescription.

5. Umbrella

If you bring an umbrella, it is more likely that you will find yourself singing in the rain.

Find a lightweight, compact umbrella to travel with instead of your heavy, cumbersome one. You can keep this umbrella in your luggage all year round to avoid the “where did I leave that” blues.

Consider packing a lightweight rain jacket with a zip-up hood. It could be a double-duty jacket that keeps you warm in a cold evening.

6. Swimsuit

You may not have thought about bringing your swimsuit on your trip to the Scottish Highlands for bird watching.

Do yourself a favour and pack your stuff. Maybe your hostel has a hot tub or pool. You may even find yourself wild-swimming in the Highlands with your newfound birder buddies.

7. Oversized Scarves

scarves are very versatile. They are easy to store and pack.

If you have limited suitcase space, you may want to consider wearing a travel pillow. You can use it as a pillow or blanket.

You can use a scarf as a protective head cover from the sun or rain. It can be used to dress up an outfit for a fancy meal. Imagine it as the trendy version of the towel that is recommended for interstellar travel in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
