Fleur Perano

Race Marshal

Fleur is the Co-Owner of UnderDog.  She has been involved in dog sports for 35 years and sled dog sports for 21.  Fleur has trained and raced in the US as part of our distance racing team for the last 11 years.  Being a key part for four Iditarods and a Yukon Quest.

Gemma Neve

Race Judge

Gemma has worked at Hetta Huskies in Finland as a Guide since 2014 running a variety of format tours up to 5 days in duration.  Gemma is currently in her second season Guiding for UnderDog.

Lori Linney

Race Vet

Lori emigrated to New Zealand from Canada 30 years ago.  She had 14 years experience in mixed animal practice before switching to full time small animals.  Since then she has developed a keen interest in small animal surgery and medicine.    Lori especially enjoys working with athletic and working dogs.  She heads the Vetlife Working dog study TeamMate, which has been following the healthy and well being of over 700 NZ farm working dogs for the past 3 years.  She has trained several obedience and agility dogs and currently is working with an  untrainable but lovable Border Terrier named Ozzy.

Moira Shepherd

Race Judge

Moira has spent the last six northern winters in Two Rivers, Alaska where she is kennel manager for SP Kennel. She has been involved with logistics and handling for many races including the Yukon Quest, Copper Basin 300 and Iditarod, and run the kennel website, social media and individual sponsorship programs. She has raced in a few of the local Two Rivers races and spent countless hours on training runs behind some of the best Alaskan Huskies in North America. Prior to that she was a checkpoint checker at the 2012 Quest and volunteered at Iditarod HQ in 2010.  When she is home in New Zealand she runs “Sled Dog Life Lessons”  teamwork and leadership workshops for businesses and organisations, using her experiences at SPK to illustrate fundamental principles.
