The SnowFarm has over 50 km of groomed trails, why not take the whole day to explore them. Start with a sled dog tour, enjoy a meal in the Snow Lodge with some of the best views in the region and then take the afternoon to ski until the mountain closes.
Duration – all day. Allow 75 minutes for the sled dog experience which includes an introduction to the dogs, tuition and a 30 minute daylight run. After lunch you are free to ski until the mountain closes at 1600.
Tour Type – this is a “Drive Your Own Team” tour (Self Drive). You will join a group of other guests unless a private tour is specifically requested (this will incur additional cost)

Ski type clothing is perfect. Please ensure you wear layers so you can warm up or cool down as needed. A warm hat and gloves are essential. Hiking type boots are ideal, something you can walk on snow in and not get wet if the days warms up a little. Bring a change of socks if you think your feet might get wet. A neck warmer / scarf is a great idea also. Bring your sun glasses as well.
We have taken thousands of people out on the self drive tour and its very straightforward if you listen to your guide. A majority of guests have never met a dog team before let alone driven one but they do awesome. We highly recommend you drive your own team. A guide will be in support throughout the tour.
This may be common practice overseas, but we do not allow it here. This is due to the nature of the trails, it can be technical in places and should you flip or loose your sled then the passenger could easily get hurt. Our Guides are specially training to take guests in the baskets.
No we do not advise this. You do so at your own risk.
A basic level of fitness is required, the ability to walk up a hill in snow is adequate. Whilst the dogs do a majority of work there are some hills they do need help on. Our guides are there to support and will assist if you need it. Please consider that the tours operate at approximately 1500m (5000ft). This can make things a little more difficult then you would normally expect at sea level.
Before you get unleashed onto the trail system with your skis you will join a group ski lesson where a ski instructor will teach you everything you need to know. After that there is nothing stopping you from exploring the 50km + of trail.
